Practice Change

Practice for the 3rd of December has been moved from Ashley to the Wishek Civic Center.

Buses leave Tuesday from Wishek at 4:30 to go to Ashley for the games against Edgeley-Kulm

Practices will be in
Ashley on Wednesday
Wishek Civic Center Tuesday
Game in Ashley vs. Ellendale Friday.

Scrimmage Saturday 12/1

The South Border Mustangs will take part in a scrimmage in Larimore, North Dakota on Saturday, December 1st.  Buses will leave from Wishek at 8:00 am and Ashley at about 7:30am.

The schedule for the scrimmage will be as follows:

1:00 pm- Larimore Varsity vs. South Border Varsity

1:30 pm- Larimore JV vs. South Border JV

2 pm-      South Border Varsity vs. North Star Varsity

2:30 pm- South Border JV vs. North Star JV
3:00 pm- North Star Varsity vs. Larimore Varsity
3:30 pm- Larimore JV vs. North Star JV

We will shower after our game and eat at my family farm near Aneta, North Dakota. This will be about a 45 minute drive from Larimore, and will be only 1 mile off the road from our way back to the South Border area.

My mother has enough food for everybody who makes the drive to the northeast to watch the boys.  That includes parents, statisticians, players, coaches, and anyone else associated with the boys who want to attend.

Elementary Teachers of Wishek Selling Cookbooks!

Fall League Rules

Fall League Rules-

• All teams are expected to bring dark and light shirts.
• Schools involved may add additional team for ⅓ price given at least three days notice to administrator (Robbie Lukens, Robert.H.Lukens@sendit.nodak.edu, 701-659-0499) Records will stay for team that is added will be 0-0 and team that is playing will keep prior record.
• No High School coaches are allowed to coach, you may have an individual outside of the program coach however.  
• Teams will play a minimum of two 25 min. games each night, Maximum of 3.
• Consideration will be given for travel time when scheduling.
• All games will be refereed by certified officials, South Border boosters, and coaches.
• Points will be awarded for fouls (1 for non-shooting fouls, 2 or 3 for shooting fouls) – FT’s will be shot during the last minute of the game if the score is within 10 points.
• Each team is allowed one time-out per game.
• Running Clock will stop for substitutions every 5 min., for time-outs, and during the last minute of the game.
• A sudden death overtime will be used if necessary.
• 35 second shot clock will be used and kept at scoring table.
• A defensive player of the game will be named after each game.
• The Final Sunday a tournament will be seeded by win percentage, and completed that day

South Border Fall League Info.

The Schedule for the South Border Fall League in Ashley will be released on Wednesday.  I will be calling to make sure we have people working concessions, clock and stats.

 If you know anyone in grades 6-8 who would like to take part in the fall league we are waiving the admission fee and having the kids ref there own games to cut costs.  Also, we will have the Junior High Players play ONLY ON THURSDAYS to avoid religious events.  Hopefully we can have a league to develop the future of Mustang basketball.

Team Gear Site Closed

The team gear site for the upcoming season is closed.  The shoes will be arriving this week and the sweatshirts will be arriving in 3-4 weeks.  Thanks for your contributions and I hope you have a wonderful season.
If the shoes do not fit they can be returned to the store in Bismarck, however, all screen printed gear sales were final when purchased.

Clothing Date changed

I have moved back the date to buy clothing to the 22nd of October to allow for people who did not find out about it until last night to purchase shoes, socks and apparel.  Have a great, LONG, weekend.

South Border Basketball on Max Preps

This year, as try and streamline media relations of game scores, the South Border Boys Basketball Team will be on Max Preps (www.maxpreps.com), a product of CBS sports.  This will allow for entries to the press to be emailed immediately at conclusion of games, and hopefully, allow everyone a little easier access to the scores as they come available.

Just click on the link above and search "South Border"  The Wishek/Ashley" Co-op will come up, you will be able to access the team calender there as well.  Allowing everyone in the Co-op equal access to the schedule!

Parent Meeting Re-scheduled

The Parent Meeting that was to take place tonight at the Wishek School for the boys basketball program will be rescheduled for next week Tuesday.  This is to allow for students to go to the volleyball game.  All deadlines for the clothing and shoes will be pushed back one week to October 22nd to allow for this change.  Shoes should be coming in soon.  I will let you know when they do if you have ordered.
